Joel M. Greenberg is a senior partner at Abrams, Fensterman, Fensterman, Eisman, Greenberg, Formato & Einiger, LLP and co-director of the firm's Health Law Practice.

Mr. Greenberg has decades of experience helping physicians, medical groups, dentists, veterinarians, and other health care providers deal with a host of business and legal issues that confront them in their professional lives.  He has developed a solid reputation among private practitioners as a well-respected, knowledgeable attorney and a creative problem-solver.  Mr. Greenberg fully understands the delicate interplay between the business needs of today's practitioner and the complex limitations that exist in the highly regulated environment in which health care professionals must practice.

Mr. Greenberg provides a wide range of services to health care professionals, including counseling them on choosing the best form of entity in which to practice; preparing their employment, partnership and shareholder agreements; and guiding them on how to structure their business arrangements so as not to violate federal and state fraud, abuse, self-referral, and professional misconduct laws.  He is also particularly skilled at assisting health care professionals in the purchase, sale, and dissolution of their professional practices; helping them understand the intricacies of the malpractice insurance world; and counseling them on the myriad of other business and legal issues that confront them daily.  He is well regarded as an effective negotiator and mediator, and is credentialed by the American Health Lawyers Association and the Amicus Mediation and Arbitration Group to serve as a mediator in their Alternative Dispute Resolution programs.

Mr. Greenberg is a frequent lecturer on health law issues at hospitals, medical societies, colleges, and bar associations.  He has also been approved by the New York State Dental Association to participate on all three of its legal services panels.  Mr. Greenberg is dedicated to several not-for-profit organizations, such as the United Cerebral Palsy Association of Nassau County, the MJHS Foundation, UJA-Federation of New York, and Temple B'nai Sholom in Rockville Centre, where he served as president from 2002 to 2004.  He has been a long time member of the New York State and Nassau County Bar Associations, the American Health Lawyers Association, the Medical Group Management Association, and the American Academy of Family Physicians' Network of Consultants.

Mr. Greenberg served as the Managing Editor of the New York Health Law Update from 1998 through 2003 and was the Chairman of the Hospital and Health Law Committee of the Nassau County Bar Association from 2000 to 2002. Mr. Greenberg received an undergraduate degree from Muhlenberg College and both a Master's degree in Public Administration and a J.D. from the American University in Washington, D.C. He is admitted to practice in New York and the District of Columbia.

Mr. Greenberg was selected as a "Super Lawyer" in 2011, a distinction earned by only five percent of the lawyers in the New York metro area.  Mr. Greenberg is also a co-editor of the 3rd edition of the "Legal Manual for New York Physicians," which is a collaborative effort by the New York State Bar Association and the Medical Society of the State of New York.  Mr. Greenberg is also a contributing author to a 2011 publication entitled, "For New York Doctors: A Guide to Asset Protection, Tax Reduction, Practice & Wealth Management."
