Attorney Lauren P. Raysor, Esq. to Appear at Schomburg Center for Research in Black History to Sign “Living The Wealthy Life”

Tuesday, March 16, 2010

On May 20, Lauren P. Raysor, Esq., a Manhattan-based civil rights attorney and former prosecutor, will be signing her new book, “Living The Wealthy Life,” at the Schomburg Center for Research in Black History from 6-10 p.m. The Learning Tree Multi Cultural Center is sponsoring the event.

In her book, Ms. Raysor says that every person has the ability to transform their current situation into something truly magnificent, regardless of their social or economic background. The transformation starts from within as people learn to take responsibility for their own actions rather than blame others. As an example, Ms. Raysor describes how she rose from poverty to become Assistant Attorney General for the State of New York, Deputy Chief and later Senior Trial Counsel for New York City and before starting her own practice.

“Living The Wealthy Life” is an up-close and personal examination of what it takes to make your life great. Ms. Raysor lists and explains the “18 Principles of Wealthy Living” and reveals what those decisions are, what you need to know when you’re making them and how to capitalize on each success to propel yourself closer to greatness.

“Inside us, we have the skills, talents and drive to take this time we’ve been blessed with and transform it into a dazzling, wealthy, complete life,” Ms. Raysor says. “The problem is that very rarely does anyone take the time to tell us what those gifts are and how to use them to transform our current situation into a life full of joy, wealth, meaningful work, professional accomplishments and strong, enduring, powerful relationships.”

Ms. Raysor also says that the choices you make determine your success. “The question of whether your future is looking up or looking down rests in your hands,” she says. “I believe that we are all provided with tremendous gifts.”

The Schomburg Center for Research in Black History is located at 515 Malcolm X Blvd., New York, New York. Fifty percent of the book’s profits will benefit educational and non-profit organizations. “The book is dedicated to all of the teachers in my life, from P.S. 186 to Fordham University School of Law and those leaders who sacrificed so much,” Ms. Raysor says. “‘Living The Wealthy Life’ is like having a mentor in your back pocket.”
