Thursday, June 12, 2014

On June 12,  2014 at 1:30 p.m., a press conference will be held in the Law Offices of Frederick K. Brewington at 556 Peninsula Boulevard, Hempstead,  New York to announce their filing of Petition with the New York State Commissioner of Education in Albany, charging the Hempstead School District, the District Clerk and Betty Cross in her capacity as a school board trustee and candidate with Election Fraud, Abuse of Absentee Ballots and other improprieties, which impacted the recent School Board Election which took place on May 20, 2014.

The content of the massive Petition will be disclosed along with the numerous instances of wrongful actions by the named Respondents. At the press conference, copies of the petition will be available for examination and residents and others will join to express their resolve to expose the level of fraud and abuse that occurred and has plagued the Hempstead School District for far too long.  A common theme by all those moving forward with this action is that what happened in this election is not the type of example we should be setting for the World to see, no less the children of Hempstead.  This Petition echoes the previous call to action that in Hempstead: “We can and must do better!”

In calling for a careful review of this process, this Petition urges the Commissioner to seriously evaluate every aspect of what led to the theft of the recent election from Ms. Toure.  Present will be Petitioners, members from the Hempstead community, members from The Corridor Counts, Inc. and New York Communities for Change, who will stand in support of intense review that must take place.
