Tully & Winkelman, P.C. Hosts Autism Workshop for Parents and Caregivers

Thursday, August 16, 2012

The Law Office of Tully & Winkelman, P.C. will host “The Home Environment Matters!”, an Autism workshop for parents and caregivers of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) on September 22, starting at 10:30 a.m. In this free workshop, those in attendance will learn how they can regain some control in helping their child on the autism spectrum. The law firm is located at 150 Broadhollow Road, Suite 120 in Melville.

The workshop will feature guest speaker and physical therapist Frank Gucciardo, M.S., P.T. Parents and caregivers will learn how an inadequate physical home environment can be a catalyst for negative behavior; how modifying the home can help make living with the challenges of autism more manageable; the Standards of an Autism-Friendly Home; and how to employ tools that can help cope with the effects of autism on their child.

In addition, Brian Andrew Tully, Esq. Founding Member, Tully & Winkelman, will discuss how to gain and maintain eligibility for government benefits, including the use of Supplemental Needs Trusts.

“Our workshop’s goal is to provide families with practical answers, knowledge and solutions for the home environment,” Mr. Gucciardo said. “A home environment which inadequately meets your child’s needs could be a direct source of frustration, resulting in negative behavior. Making insightful adjustments to your home could help both your child with ASD and the rest of your family better cope with the effects of autism.”

The workshop is sponsored by Tully & Winkelman, P.C. and presented by Frangeli Consulting & Remodeling. Seating is limited, so reservations are required. To reserve your seat, call (866) 618-7685. For more information on Tully & Winkelman, call (631) 424-2800, or visit estateplanning-elderlaw.com.
